The segments are treated as panels. The repeat follows the division of the capsule rather than a decorative grid, which is why the design holds when the scarf is folded, knotted or worn open.

The same segmentation carries into the two garments shown at the debut presentation: a cropped leather-and-suede jacket with piped panels, and a dress in printed silk chiffon using a seamless repeat derived from this artwork.
